hinges good, screws useless

Replacing 50 yr old hinges. Screws with new hinges slightly shorter and smaller than old. Used Prime-Line 9035128 Wood Screw, Flat Head Phillips, #8 X 1 in, Solid Brass from Amazon. Good, no problems.
