Ehh, for the price paid I don't feel I should have to modify the product as included instructions state. If this was $5 I wouldn't complain. End of the day not a huge deal. This item requires you have a flat board, sand paper 400 grit I believe, and some elbow grease to sand down the mouth so it seals with the lid. The injection molding leaves an uneven mouth surface so it won't seal. Took about 20 min for 2 canteens to surface to a good seal as instruction state.

Great product. I ordered 2 for my alice belt setup. I recommend running water through them before drinking out of them
