I got some defrost hose from a different supplier a while back to replace 1 of the hoses, and it was kind of a let down. It worked, but very light duty. This stuff is very heavy duty, thick rubber, and thick spring steel wire inside. It keeps it's shape very well, even if you have to deform it a little to cram it in place. Very pleased with this stuff. 3ft was enough to do both defrost lines on my commando
