Great Set at a Great Price
Got this as a gift for someone but was able to have a go also - the set leans slightly towards raking , which is why i got it for them, the sparrows quality seems to be overall good, and it all fits into what is actually a very compact package. I like all the normal rake profiles in this set and find them effective. The hooks provided are not quite the standard ones, but have similar heights. I would have prefered the off diamond, to be steeper, but its not the end of it. I also think that wrench that is not one of the flat ones would have been a good addition - all flat is good for space, but not versitility. The sandman pick - a pick that doesn't really show up in many sets, just this one and the vorax(maybe?), or as a single. I was interested to have a go, and found that for many locks it is quite tall and is not particularly manouverable, I also found that for some locks that the bogata, or L rake just eats through, sometimes the sandman struggled. However there were some locks, that I usually have to rake in stages, that it just opened very fast. So I'd say a very particular pick, probably not in the essential category, and maybe as a result not 'one of the ones for beginners' just because there are more universally useful picks. I personally love a snake rake, which this set does not have. All in all a good set, and I am pleased with the purchase and service - if it were my set, I would add some sort of higher/reach hook (steeper offset diamond maybe), a snake rake, and some more wrenches
