Blackwing Høvel

This analog guy not impressed with the hovel

I have gone through four pencils, one of them being a Blackwing and when it didn’t work that well I moved to a different pencil just to see if it was me or the pencil. I can’t get a pencil sharpened. It’s sharpen on one side. I moved to do the other and it just breaks not happy with it. I’ll stick to my Blackwing handle pencil sharpener. I carry it around between work and Home, I absolutely love it.

Blackwing Hovel

I already owned an original Hovel by Makers Cabinet, but I had to have the Blackwing version for several reasons. One, the sharpener is a Blackwing! Anything Blackwing has to be cool. The Blackwing Hovel is also much lighter than it's forefather which makes the sharpener easier to work with and not as tiresome as the original. Three, the matte black is beautiful. The shiny brass on the original is also great lookin, but the Black just pops more. I also find the Blackwing Hovel to be easier to sharpen with, and I think this a result of using aluminum as opposed to the traditional brass. The Blackwing Hovel just seems to glide more on the flats of a pencil. Overall, just a really great sharpener and a real pleasure to use. Zac

The craftsmanship!

Gorgeous piece. Have it to my father for his birthday. He’s loving it. He said there is an art to learning how to use it but there are plenty of helpful videos.
