Oprah Loved Them. I Returned Them.
I really wanted to love these towels, especially given the price and the “Oprah’s Favorite Things” endorsement, but my experience has been disappointing.
I initially purchased the Nantucket bath towel set. They were shockingly thin. Even microfiber cleaning cloths from Costco felt thicker and more substantial. For a premium price point, I expected plush, dense, hotel-quality towels, and these were nowhere close.
I returned the Nantucket set and exchanged it for the Complete Lux Bath Bundle, hoping for a major upgrade. Unfortunately, the exchange process was frustrating. It took three emails, two phone calls, and nearly two months before the replacement was shipped.
Cozy Earth requires returned items to sit in a quality-control queue before exchanges are processed, and it felt like my order fell through the cracks. Customer service was polite, but the process itself needs serious improvement.
After using the Lux towels for a month and washing them several times, I’m still underwhelmed. They are soft, but much thinner than the photos suggest. Definitely not thick, dense, or particularly luxurious. More concerning, the softness noticeably declined after just 3–4 washes, becoming slightly rougher over time. I wash with a gentle detergent (Dirty Labs + booster) and dry on medium heat, so they aren’t being over-treated.
Overall, these towels are fine if you prefer lightweight and soft, but they don’t deliver the plush, high-end feel their marketing implies. For the cost, I expected far more durability, substance, and a smoother customer experience.
