Gorka K2 Red Dawn Jacket

It's here at last it came today, the thing for which I sent away

Fantastic, I can't wait to wear this with my cor blimey trousers and a cup o char watching the 80s classic. I'm 5'9"ish 185lbs and the 46" 5'9" has plenty of room for it to go over the top of several layers I reckon, I will take it with me when I escape to the last frontier. Wife says it garish, which makes me like it exponentially more. Quality construction , winter needs to hurry up and get here

Badass print, in a badass jacket

I'm really digging this Red Dawn jacket. The handful of people who recoginze it get a real kick out of it and the Gorka is just a solid shell jacket and fit is just right for me.

Initial Impressions

Jacket is made from a nice, light-weight, canvas type material that should be effective at blocking wind. Fit was excellent and size description on web site seems to be accurate. Quality of the jacket zipper was very poor. Not easy to connect / zip without some work to align the parts up perfectly. Top zipper pull tab actually came completely off of the top of the zipper track where it terminates at the end (near the neck) and I had to reattach it back on to the zipper track. Front pockets are very shallow and will not hold much gear but will serve well enough as hand warmers. Button holes were a bit small for jacket button size but work well enough. Arm pockets are well made with velcro closures. Tie downs on hood are nice and very effective at keeping hood in place. Red Dawn camo pattern is iconic and difficult to find so this helps to justify the high price point for the garment. Quality could be improved with use of better, heavy-duty zipper and enlarged front pockets and the additon of a chest pocket.
