use the recommended yarn weight

I have been struggling with a worsted weight yarn to make this pattern. I have a feeling it would be going much better if I could afford the really thick yarn that is recommended in the pattern. It's a little complicated. I would not have tried it if my 16 year old grandson had not specifically asked for plaid.

Great pattern. Easy to follow. Once you get the pattern going, it just flows and I appreciate having the printed pattern to check. Great pics too. My blanket is coming along nicely. It’s the best plaid crochet pattern I have found. Thanks calistafaye!
