Installed blinds on outside of a huge 12' long by 9' high sliding glass door (2 blinds). Had a big wind storm and they held up to that test. Due to the height, I got help from a professional installer, and it seemed fairly simple for a DIY job on normal height shades. Took about 3 weeks to get shades after ordering, and I am amazed they are the perfect size and work so well (motorized with optional solar panel power). Well designed and well constructed to block the direct summer sun's heat and UV from entering house.
