Use with your kid, not your class

For the evident sake of safety, the blades are a bit on the floppy side; parries work best with the guard, and fast bladework from the fingers tends the leave the blade behind while the grip moves. I wouldn't use these for group lessons or with kids old enough to safely use a regular blade. That said, for teaching my four year old a love of fencing and some fundamental techniques (distance, simple attacks, parries, etc.), these foam sabers work mighty well. They're also durable, and so far they show no wear from almost a year of regular use (several sessions a week).
