If you like the idea of a Mexican Dirty Harry vs an 80's slasher villain tossed into an action thriller. This flick is for you! This film is actually a lot of things including very low budget. This in combination with the story actually turns this mashup into an really good unintentional comedy. Some movies like to set a tone in the opening scene for how much tension and danger is going to be present for the hero to have to overcome. Not 38 Especial. This opens up with 2 cops firing an endless stream of bullets into drug cartel gangsters that fire even larger quantities of ammunition with even bigger guns at the cop duo. And missing every opportunity they have. I found myself laughing so much at this film. It tries sooo hard to be tough and scary and disturbing that they really made something magical with this movie. Unintentionaly of course.
