Having only used the sharpener once, I can’t say too much, but I did notice that there appeared to be less wasted lead, compared to standard pencil sharpeners - probably due to the 2-step process. And the sharpness of the blade released to wonderful aroma of cedar wood 😊

Does the job

Bought purely as it was the obvious choice to successfully sharpen the Blackwing 602 pencils I purchased. Rather than the usual stick your pencil in and sharpen away this is a much more measured and possibly kinder approach to sharpening these legendary pencils. Although you will have to empty the sharpener after each pencil is sharpened in this two stage process (which isn’t really a problem), it is a recommended purchase albeit being way overpriced but purely because of its branding so loses a star for being poor value.
