I have coveted a version of this mortar and pestle since I saw it on Nigel Slater’s Simple Suppers TV programme. I can’t believe I actually have it in my hands. It is sculptural and gorgeous to hold; almost too lovely to use, but I will. It is good to let objects live their best lives.
