UAD Minimoog Rocks!

Mini ‘D’ tones are spot on with this VST! I was able to dial in fat basses and lively leads quickly and easily! It also responds amazingly with my controller and slips sweetly into a mix! Best synth purchase of the year!

A faithful emulation.

I am by no means a synth expert, I do add synth parts in some of my pieces and was familiar with the minimoog. As far as I can see so far it is reasonably easy to use and sounds great however, if I was going to be Honest, I only considered it because I got a great price through a 3rd party dealer.

Sound quality not pro-grade, and comes with invasive iLok software

Plenty of digital crunch in this one, and installing it means you're also installing everybody's least favourite security management software, iLok, which is a nightmare to remove from your system. On the other hand, it's cheap and very light on CPU, but even if it was free I would rather pay more for one of the more decent MiniMoog emulations like Cherry Audio's Miniverse (which has quality options like oversampling settings, and doesn't cost much more - hear the difference!). Will be steering clear of UA for plugins for good I think - they increasingly seem like perfunctory corporate box-ticking exercises. Your mileage may vary - this is just my experience. For casual playing around I'm sure this plugin may be fine.
