Hard Water shower filter

Does as advertised, the shower glass stays cleaner longer because it works so well. However, housing is plastic though pictures make it appear stainless steel. chrome flaking off and split at the threaded connections after about 6 months. The filter mesh that holds the contents in the filter also split afted 6 months. Does as advertised be even better if the housing was steel.

Huge difference in our hard water with pool levels of chlorine! The water actually feels softer and doesn't stink!
