Great Pattern & Color Combination - Not a Great Fit

The Harbor Slim Shirt/Aurora Space Dye Plaid shirt was my first purchase from Bridge & Burn. I purchased the shirt because I loved the great pattern and color combination. However, making a clothing purchase from a brand I had never worn before was risky, especially since it was on sale/clearance, and if the fit was wrong or I didn't like it, I was unable to exchange the shirt. After comparing the shirt's measurements on the B&B website with those of medium-sized shirts from other brands I regularly wear, I was reassured that the fit would be comparable. As it turns out, the fit was wrong. The medium size fits more like a small; the shirt is tight in the shoulders, chest, and arms. Very disappointing.
Because I loved the pattern and colors of the shirt, I decided to buy another one in a large size, hoping the fit would be closer to a size medium and not overly large. The large size fits reasonably well, but it's still not quite a perfect fit. It's a bit too large in the shoulders, chest, and arms. But I can live with it because I love the pattern and color of the shirt.
Despite the not-great fit, it is a great shirt. It pairs well with jeans, chinos, slacks, and corduroys. It's well-made from soft, breathable 100% cotton in soft, earthy colors and a fantastic pattern - although I wish the shirt's pattern was better matched at the seams and the pocket.
If you're new to B&B and can't try on a size in person, I recommend ordering a size larger than your usual fit. If you're a risk-taker and want to make a purchase anyway, I highly recommend buying something that can be returned or exchanged if the fit is incorrect.
Overall, I can recommend this shirt.
