Well Made But Don’t Love it

Let me start by saying I love Derby hanging hay bags. Great quality and ease of filling. I have 2 smaller ones that I use on almost a daily basis. I wanted a larger hay bag that was easy to fill. I normally just leave the smaller ones hanging to fill and it is super easy. I thought these larger ones would fit the bill. This bag is also very well made, however, it’s not as easy to fill compared to the smaller bags. You cannot fill the bale while it hangs. I’m not sure how this fits an entire bale unless maybe a small kicker bale. For my uses, I should have purchased 2 of the other hanging style. Overall disappointed in this bag.

Perfect for stall rails

This is my second order of Derby hay bags. The square construction XL size with hanging straps is perfect for stall feeding and are easy to load. My only suggestion is to upgrade the metal fasteners. They are the first thing to break. The heavy duty webbing lasts about 3 years.
