Vespid Tiger 1/72

Model fits like a dream. Vespid features several details that are not included in other 1/72 Tigers , including interior turret details like gun breech, elevation control mechanism and crew seats. The turret roof fits so well it is not necessary to glue it in place to have a fine fit. Consequently, the roof can be lifted for occasional display of the interior details. More hatches may be built in either open or closed positions than other 1/72 Tigers. Vespid included a turned metal gun barrel and several brass photo etched parts, including grates over the engine and cooling compartments. Making use of those would require good knife work, removing, with rectangular precision, parts of the deck. While engine cooling fans are provided, an engine is not. Nor were crew figures. Vespid’s 1/72 Leopard featured a small curved section of track for draping over the drive wheel making it relatively easy to get a nice alignment of the tracks. Their Tiger, however, required the modeler to place individual links. On balance it may be the best of the 1/72 kits. 1 Compared to Academy, Airfix, Border, Dragon, Forces of Valor/Walters, Hasegawa, Hobby Boss, Italeri, Plastic Soldier, Revell, Trumpeter, and Zvezda. Yes, I have more 1/72 Tigers than the Germans had at Prokhorovka.
