I was worried about purchasing these shorts, since the description says they only fit hip sizes up to 39". I measure 40", sometimes 40.5". They are pretty snug -- but not uncomfortably so -- and they do fit me. They are the most comfortable shaper shorts I've ever worn. The material is cool and non-scratchy and there is a cotton panel in the crotch, making them comfortable under knit exercise pants. The waist is high enough that there is no muffin top. The material is thin enough that the leg lines and waistband line don't show through knit pants or dresses. If you are tired of panty lines showing through knit exercise pants or "body-conscious" knit dresses, and panties riding up into your butt, then try these. They are very comfortable.
