Rejuvenated my prayer life
This book has been life changing. I’ve been particularly encouraged and challenged by the following 1. The emphasis on praying Biblical prayers, using Scripture to shape and give depth and substance to my prayers. I love this line “He delights to hear his children pray in line with his revealed will, and one of the chief ways he chooses to act in the world is in response to the prayers of his people”. 2. Being reminded that our prayers are not disabled by our sin and weakness 3. The encouragement to write out prayers and pray them regularly - I started to do this and I am finding it helps me to stay focused in prayer times and the exercise of writing out prayers makes me think more deeply. I've also tried writing out a personal prayer whilst listening to sermons and then praying them during the following week. 4. The helpful tips at the end of the book to cultivate prayerful habits. This is a great book to buy extra copies and give away to friends and I’m also planning to read the book with some of the young adult women that I do one to ones with.

Strengths in weakness
This book is a bit long-winded, with simple vocabulary and repetitive ideas. So why 5 stars? Because all those are actually strengths! If you are reading a book on prayer, your prayer life will probably be going better than if you weren't reading a book on prayer. (Every time I read a bit, it prodded me to be praying more). So the longer the book is, the longer your prayer life is plodding along a bit stronger than before. So long-winded is good! Simple vocabulary was refreshing, reminding me that God doesn't hear me because of how smart I am, but he hears me like a father loves to hear his children. Repetitive ideas? Well, I forget far too often, isn't it great to be reminded of great truths about prayers? So all in all, a highly recommended book for your edification.

Outstanding. I very often recommend Enjoy Your Prayer Life by Michael Reeves, which is great, but very brief! This is now my go-to for a more substantial book on prayer that is easy to read, biblical, gospel-centred, and has heaps of prayers to actually use. Bonus points for being Aussie. Hard recommend.
