Great remote - Returns are challenging

I purchased two of these remotes (knew them from buying another one earlier). They are really easy to set up (basically just removing the battery film). The functionality is great with dimming, flickering and time. So many more options than without. The problem was that one I as giving as a gift the recipient didn't want to keep up with and wanted to just continue using the options on the candle itself, so was going to return one. . . the return cost was going to be almost as much as the item itself. The return costs are higher than they should be.
