PUNT THE STRETCH BAND!
23.5” head = 7 5/8 = XXL per size chart = TOO TIGHT. Opinion: Elastic band is a poor option for true sizing. I’ll probably have to cut it out. FYI: I have had the L/XL version of this same hat & gave it away. The larger XXL is not a noticeable difference. The palm leaf material is excellent. Issue is only with size & band material choice. There is no XXL style option with a non-stretch band. Also, my order came with size adjustment pads. Why?…It’s a stretch band.

The only straw hat I wear! The BEST!!
I love this hat. I wear it on the river. I’ve worn itchy straw hats before but the band on the inside is so comfy, it keeps the hat snug and extremely comfortable on my head. I love the shape of it. It has held up so well! I will always order a Tula hat when mine wears out — but it has held up so well!
