Bought the watch 1) because my fr245 was developing numerous data recording glitches 2) fr165 has a barometric altimeter 3) fr165 price dropped to an acceptable point Had previously purchased a COROS pace 2 for the barometric altimeter, but wanted to get another garmin For the fr165: GPS tracking is very good; barometric altimeter worked as I had hoped. Paired the watch with a STRYD next gen. The process was more complicated than I thought it needed to be, but I guess I understand manufacturers wanting to wall off their technology. By comparison, the power and running dynamics features built into the fr165 need to “evolve” some Overall, a very nice watch
