Perfect thing for my horse
My older gal (20yo) decided she no longer liked single jointed bits (totally fair). However, I could not fox hunt her with her double jointed baucher as she tends to pull against that in the arena when excited. I was looking for control, but something that could help me be lighter with my hands. My trainer suggested the Julia Sweetiron Pelham, but I'm not confident with double reins, so I tried the same thing as a kimblehook. This was a game changer. I can use it essentially as a baucher which she went in well on the flat previously, but I have the option to gain a little bit of leverage if I need it. I barely had to touch my reins and my horse responded immediately. I was able to use a lot less pressure to get her to respond.
