Truly a Masterpiece in Perfume

I am so in love with Ashoka. After reading a review from one of my favorite perfume bloggers, I wasn't sure it would be something I'd like. I ordered a decant to try just because her writing is so fascinating. I'm so glad I did. Ashoka goes through several versions of itself as you wear it and it's truly beautiful at every stage. I love the bright, green opening. After a couple hours, hat mellows into a beautiful osmanthus that is elegantly dry. Then it settles into a rich, nonsweet vanilla that is comforting and woody. It's just gorgeous all the way through.

Sweet fig sandalwood that were blended in a perfect way! Love it!

Ashoka opens with a roasted fig, leathery with almost smoked tea leaves. Underneath these dry aromas lies a milky greenness which hints of humid tropics with a blush of aquatic floral that the lotus gives. The heart notes unfurl with the warmth of the skin to reveal sensuous lush floral notes that are tempered with sweet, creamy sandalwood and fresh balsams that resonate like rosen on a cello bow. The heart radiates above a powdery bed that is deeply fragrant and soft. Myrrh, tonka, incense swirl in a beautiful inversion of weightless base notes that both ground and lift this extremely elegant achievement. Ashoka is the definition of elegance- a perfect balance and control of opulence and restraint, dry aromatics and green milky sweetness, strong purpose and soft sophistication.
