Good Stuff
I had been looking for a preservative for my covered porch deck and decided to try this. The deck is white oak and was built 10 years ago but I never treated it. I didn't want something that just sat on the surface, but rather wanted something that would soak in, preserve the wood, and not change the appearance. This is it. I tried to use a pump sprayer that I had, but the nozzle gave me problems. So, I applied Cedarshield using a paint roller with a long handle. Perfect! The roller was 3/8" which absorbed a good bit of Cedarshield, but then rolled some out in the pan before applying it. It is thin but a good bit went on from the roller. Applying it and then immediately going over it again with the roller evened up the application. This went fast. In a day it was dry enough to walk on. I did not follow their instructions to dampen the wood first because the deck was white oak which is closed-cell and dampening it would not open the cells. The application went very fast and easy this way. I hope it preserves the deck as well as they say it will.

works great!
It seals the wood perfectly. Easy to apply. Just spray using a yard sprayer. It even keeps the carpenter bees away from making holes in your wood!!

Applies easily with a spray applicator. Noticed the next day the carpenter bees had abandoned the wood. Seems to have long term impact.
