SoftPro™ Elite Smart HE Water Softener for City Water

I had three different soft water systems prior to SoftPro. SoftPro is the only system which has worked for us. We are very pleased with the results. Our water went from a hardness of 17-18 to 0 hardness. Definitely would recommend SoftPro.

My older water softener was dead, so I bought SoftPro® Elite Smart HE Water Softener in early May 2026. I asked a handyman for installation. After Installation I wanted to see if it is working as advertised. So I tested with the water hardness strip and it passed with flying colors. Very happy with it so far.

This is a very nice water softener with some really good features that promise to cut down on salt and water usage. The instruction manual was good and eay to follow. The only negative comment I have is the instruction manual does not have any details for the checking and setting up the brine tank. The brine tank did not fill correctly and the softener did not regen correctly when first placed in service. After removing all of the salt, It was discovered the brine well was not inserted correctly in the salt support. This resulted in the the brine slots to be blocked by salt and inhibited proper operation. The high level float was also set too high. Once these two items were corrected, the water softener worked correctly.
