I never had such a strange looking petit four( very dark brown) . Additionally, the taste has nothing to do with almond. It tasted as if it was made with coconut.
Overall disappointed by the quality as I did not except this from a well known Gourmet and Sweet makers such as Masmoudi as their quality is so much better when bought locally in Tunisia.
