Minelab Manticore Multi-IQ+ Waterproof Metal Detector

Absolutely Brilliant Engineering!!

I have owned ALL the top Minelab detectors up through the GPZ 7000 and I'm telling you the Manticore is a milestone flagship. Finally a Minelab for both the professional hunter like me and those new to the hobby. Minelab finally got the weight right. Historically top Minelab machines have been very heavy unbalanced machines, on the Manticore I can see where Minelab trimmed weight aggressively. Powerful factory default hunt modes, that's also a change as typically their factory default modes were about half power. Turn on and go modes are powerful, for those new to the hobby you won't be handicapped with the factory defaults. For Minelab Jedi masters like me, wow there's no hunt or site condition I can't optimize a Manticore for and it has power to spare. It punches through our Pacific NW black volcanic magnetic black sand (iron) like no detector I have used before including the Deus. Color screen brilliant. Software and menu layout (retired managing director of software development) top notch. This review could be pages long, a chapter even, suffices to say this machine will last years you won't outgrow it anytime soon.

I like the simplicity of the device, IT works at the right time..Verry happy.

I will not be using this new machine for 6 to 8 mo's. I have a totally torn rotator cuff that will be replaced by surgery in April. So I am down for the count
