Wow!

This is my first Televue eyepiece and now I get what the hype is all about. The quality of this eyepiece is outstanding. I finally had an opportunity to spend several nights observing in bortle 2 skies last week and I have to say I am seriously impressed by it. The views are just so bright and crisp, and they have noticeably higher contrast when compared with my Baader 36mm Aspheric. The eye relief is quite long and very forgiving. It is real easy find the sweet spot and quite comfortable to maintain. The adjustable eyecup is a "very nice" feature. Once you get it dialed in you just stick you eyeball right into it and go WOW! I bought it for my Evo 8 EdgeHD hoping to tease out a bit more detail out of fainter objects but seeing The Double Cluster and The Pleiades through it was quite the treat. It has now become the eyepiece that sits in my scope 85% of the time. The only negative thing I have to say is that it doesn't come with a leather pouch like my Baader eyepieces. I really like those leather pouches. Come on Televue, make it happen.

Pleiades never looked so good

My first time out with the Tele Vue Panoptic 41 revealed views of the Pleiades that were truly exceptional despite the less-than-wonderful sky conditions. The nebulosity popped and the wide field view allowed more of the cluster to be in the eyepiece. Happy, happy, happy.
