I got this primarily because of the drain plug to make future gear oil changes easier. The install went fine, and I was able to reuse the original gasket. The only issue I encountered was the lack of clearance between the cover and the spare tire heat shield. PPE says no trimming is necessary, but I found the heat shield was almost right up against the cover, with less than 1/4” of clearance. I was concerned that there might be contact with normal suspension movement, so I trimmed the shield back to get at least as much clearance as there was for the OEM cover. Not a big deal, I cut it with a jig saw and smoothed it with a dremel tool.

Yes, the installation was straight forward and great fit with all the necessary hardware. Excellent build quality, features and appearance with additional fluid capacity, very important. I was able to the re-use the original GM gasket. Happy with the purchase. PPE has a helpful staff.
