2013-2025 RAM/Dodge/Jeep/BMW ZF 8-Speed Heavy-Duty Cast Aluminum Transmission Pan – Deep

Great upgrade!

Replaced the stock transmission pan and filter on 2021 RAM 1500 limited two months ago. The installation went as hoped (only complicated because of the RAM design where getting the vehicle level and having to jack the transmission to make the swap). In my case, I drained a little over 5 qts and added nearly 8 qts of fluid. I pull a large travel trailer in the Arizona heat. The new pan consistently kept the transmission temps about 20 degrees cooler than what I observed previously. Really happy with the upgrade.

Quality Upgrade

I think the idea of replacing a plastic housing with a cast aluminum that has a replaceable filter and extra capacity is an absolute no-brainer. Performance-wise I see about a 10-20 degree decrease in transmission temps when driving at normal speeds at distance. I used Amsoil Signature ATF rather than the Mopar due to the document increase in quality. Time will tell on the overall performance when I go to tow our travel trailer.
