1969-1970 B-Body crossmember | RCBE-400

Good fitment, but less rigid than OEM

I installed this G-Force crossmember on my 1969 Chevrolet Impala with a TH400 and a 598ci big block. In terms of fitment, no issues: it aligns perfectly with the B-Body chassis, and the extra clearance it provides is a real advantage for routing 3-inch exhaust pipes. However, I’m a bit disappointed with its rigidity. The original crossmember is completely stiff, whereas this one has some flexibility. I’m not sure yet what the consequences will be on the car’s behavior, but I would have preferred it to be as rigid as the OEM part. It’s still a good product for those needing extra clearance under the car, but if rigidity is a priority, this is something to consider.
