Compact tomahawk "Balor" with polymer composite handle

Well made and good value. I liked it so much I bought 3 more for Christmas gifts

The compact tactical tomahawk I received is pretty solid and well built with a very comfortable handle but, I was a little disappointed. The tomahawk arrived pretty dull, even duller than most off the rack utility axes you can purchase from any hardware store. I don’t know if the tomahawk is purposely shipped dull but, I might have hesitated ordering it if I knew it would be that dull. Luckily I’m proficient with sharpening knives, axes and hatchets so I was able to give it a good edge. Personally, “survival” type tools like a hatchet or tomahawk should have a good cutting edge without compromising the angle grind so it can be utilized in multiple applications. Secondly, the weight without the sheath was 1.8 lbs, not 1.54 lbs according to the “overall weight” description on the ancientsmithy website. Like I said, I was a little disappointed but do not hate the tomahawk. It’s fine after a little TLC but I wanted to give an honest perspective of the craftsmanship. Personally, I believe the price point could be a little cheaper but, I don’t consider it overpriced either. Overall it’s a good compact tactical tomahawk that’s very solid and should hold up to abuse. I just wish it didn’t show up dull or I would have already ordered the other version, the compact tactical "Alvaldi" tomahawk. If I ordered it and shows up dull it would be more challenging to sharpen so I’m going to pass on it…
