Eagle AXS Rocker Paddle Upgrade Kit

New AXS Rider

I recently converted my 2017 Moots Routt 45 from a drop bar to a flat bar and updated to 12 speed GX/AXS. Having never shifted one of these and actually never seen one I was a bit confused and the normal paddle seemed odd the way it actuated. I did some online research, reached out to SRAM and I found the updated paddle kit. A quick Google search and I landed on Thunder Mountain Bikes website and got the best price on the internet. Ordered it and had it within 3 days, installed it in 5 minutes and it shifts exactly like I wanted. Best upgrade to my upgrade! Thanks guys!

Takes about 2 or 3 rides to train your brain to use the AXS Rocker Paddle that closely simulates a cable shifter, but it's very long. When you install the new shifter paddle it comes inward towards your grips (towards the end of the bars) and doesn't give you much room to work with. I had to buy a left sided SRAM Match Maker in order to bring it back out from under the grips so my hands had full real estate on the grips. That's why I gave 3 stars. Install was simple, quality seems good, but the positioning and the need to buy a new MMX bracket cuts 2 stars right from the top.

Glad I purchased

I first saw this on one of my buddies rigs. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. It was on sale and I wanted to support Thunder Mountain Bike Shop so I pulled the trigger on the trigger, lol. It was a great purchase, I’ve fallen even deeper in love with my asx. Much easier to adjust the position of the derailleur. Sometime that extra millisecond is the difference if you’re going to make that technical climb or get that extra pedal stroke before you hit the lip. Definitely worth $20. No more fumbling around to find the shifter or missing the shift because you didn’t push hard enough on the lever. This new lever is way mor sensitive and sits a great position.
