Worthy of the Title “Superior”
I typically purchase Superior First Grade Alishan however the cost has become prohibitive. So, I decided to try other sommeliers. Living Roots Alishan High Mountain Oolong is a Winner, and a fraction of what I was paying. For me, I prefer a 2 minute steep @ 204F since I like a gentle tea on first brewing. First sip has a tantalizing aroma and soft floral notes. Each subsequent steeping brings depth but no astringency or “tannic acid” flavor. The notes of this tea are pleasantly “long on the tongue.” As a long-time tea drinker and associate with a tea master, I have some acquaintance with teas. I prefer a high mountain low oxidized (low fermented) tea and this fits the “bill” (play on words) perfectly. I‘ve already ordered more! [Note: I have no affiliation with anyone at Living Roots and have not received any compensation for this hearty endorsement. PS their Shan Lin Xi Oolong is also a “winner”!]
