Anthem AVM 90 Preamp/Processor

Patience yields rewards in the end

This is my second go at leaving a review for the AVM 90. When leaving my first review I wasn't too impressed with it's sound after performing the ARC room calibration. As a former Dirac user, ARC has a steep learning curve. Although I was impressed with the spaciousness and bass performance, it took some familiarization and patience to achieve the detailed sound I was looking for. There are a few cons such as the cheap remote and no XLR inputs for my streamer but I have grown to really like this unit. The sound is really big and spacious while adding some detail that I haven't experienced before. My in-ceiling Atmos speakers have never been so active during movies and my favorite is the clean and powerful bass produced from my 5 subwoofers. Music sounds awesome. It is on the expensive side but I highly recommend the AVM 90.

Sounds great

It is early to do a thorough review. At this point, the web interface is great. I love the ARC Genesis surround processing and it seems to sound very good. The bass management seems much better than Dirac. I must say, I had a few setup problems both with the unit and with ARC. In all cases Perplexity was able to provide a solution rather than the AA tech support team. So just use Perplexity for troubleshooting.

Great sound from this pre processor. Virtual inputs , super clear and high quality DAC, 4 sub support, anthem ARC works amazing! Using it with Apple TV4K, Kaleidescape, PS5pro, Apple Mac mini. Zero issues. 7.4.4 setup.
