Adjustable shin-pad straps are the old-school hold for players who do not want a full sleeve. Two straps, one high and one low, pull a moulded Shinplex guard against the shin when a sock-only setup still lets the pad rotate. They sit over the pad, under the match sock, and buckle or hook without wrapping the whole calf in compression.
