Not a Good Lock

I really don’t like having to give a negative review, but unfortunately, this product just isn’t very good. My first complaint would be the process required to re-code the lock combination. I followed the instructions, but the button on the bottom of the lock is sticky and hard to manipulate, which makes the recording process challenging. In addition, having to remove a set screw in order to recode the combination seems a little ridiculous. On the top of the lock, underneath the latch is a very small screw that needs to be removed in order to re-code the combination and then the screw needs to be reset once you were finished recording. If you were to stop and purchase this lock on the go, it’s not a convenient way to recode a combination.. the need to have a screwdriver available just complicates the process and makes the lock less useful. The latch seems sticky and not very smooth and the overall quality of the product just seems poor.

This SQUIRE weather shield pro lock is very unique design for a padlock. I really like the screw feature for setting your four digit code. The 2.5 inch hardened shackle makes opening your lock very easy, great feature. This SQUIRE lock is also recodable, with over 10,000 possible codes. Simply scan the QR code on back of placard and info on maintenance, warranty and recoding are available. Really a great lock.
