Close but not comfortable with hard hat and ear muffs

I got this to be used with a hard hat and ear muffs. I wish the ear parts were bare or thin so the ear muffs could seal better. I just use ear plugs with the muffs and it works fine. I can't find any other brands that make these comparable with ear muffs. All I can find it moto cross specific fog deflection masks. The back velcro feels a little too high on the back of my head that the hard hat tightener sits on top of it making an uncomfortable tight fit. Basically what im saying is a hard hat comparable version of this would be great for the arctic conditions of saskatchewan
