I would strongly advise anyone with an older caravan with a Truma hot water unit to carry spares for the the John Guest elbows on the inlet and outlet of the hot water tank. They are prone to fail after a few years and the resulting water leak will be problematic. They are also a specific part that can only be obtained from a caravan parts supplier. My van is 14 years old and I had both of them fail on separate occasions and the second time, everything under the bed was soaked. They are easy to replace if you have the parts on hand so you can be on the road again with a minimum of inconvenience. I am about to head off on a long trip so I decided to carry spares in case it happens again. CARAC were great, they had them in stock at a keen price and they were promptly dispatched and I had them in a few days. Thanks guys for your help.
