The rack is well built with strong components. We found bike loading is best achieved by going left to right when loading more than four bikes because of the limited space between them. We had difficulty lowering the mast to the lowest position with 5 bikes on the back. The heavy weight and limited access to the release lever made it difficult to push it in far enough. Otherwise the rack met our needs for carrying multiple bikes.

Stout Rack

I was not ready for how solid this rack was going to be when it arrived... Specifically the pivot mechanism which I was concerned with when ordering. However, I love the simple yet robust engineering that went into this thing. There are no little fiddley bits to break....bolts, plate and springs..
