Grass-fed Beef Chuck Roast

I’m frustrated with the recurring packaging problems from REP Provisions. In my experience, roughly one out of every three packages has a sealing issue. Packages that should be securely sealed end up leaking as the meat thaws, as shown in my photos. The meat arrives frozen solid with dry ice, but that doesn’t excuse unreliable packaging. I shouldn’t have to deal with leaking meat juices, repackage products, or wonder when a seal failed and whether the contents were exposed. When I’m paying $14–$16 per pound for premium meat, reliable packaging is a basic expectation. This has happened too often to dismiss as an isolated issue. REP needs to improve its sealing process and quality control and replace or refund affected products. These recurring problems have undermined my confidence in the company.

I’m not going to be ordering any more of this. I was very disappointed with the chuck roast we received. Say what you want about roast from the grocery store. But I have never had a roast from them that was so tuff I had to use a steak knife to cut it. Plus the center of the meat had a big piece of fat and gristle. 4 hours in the roasting. Usually the roast is tender and falls apart. Unfortunately not this roast.
