No confidence

My first rod broke 6” below the ferrel on 34 casts JW did the did replace with an up grade … but in 40+ years of surf fishing I never had a rod snap .. leaves a bitter taste in my mouth … it’s now a spare rod if I bring a guest on the beach …. Zero confidence in the rod.
