This is my third handpan. I have one made of nitrided carbon steel – you have to strike it. The second, more expensive, is made of stainless steel – the sustain is okay, you can strike it gently, but the sound is pure, without soul or overtones. The Hluru one, made of 1.2 mm nitrided steel, has the best sound for me. It's sensitive to the strike. You don't have to strike it. I dreamed of something like that when I heard the sounds of the most expensive handpans. I recommend it.
