Straight out of the box, bolted directly on to the rear frame of my 1996 MB 230GE!

Quality Product

Product was well made and heavy duty. One spot on the hitch didn’t get fully coated, so it needed additional touch up and no installation instructions were included. Bolts are self locking and require massive amount of force to get on. You need an oversized 3/4 long arm break bar or compact impact wrench to get on, plus you must have a stubby 22mm closed end wrench to hold the bolt’’s nuts in place when bolting on. I have many automotive tools and have advanced tool skills, but this was a pain to put on even with a second set of skilled hands. In the end looks and function are superior to other hitches for older G-Wagons and worth the extra money IMO.

I have always wished my G had a normal trailer hitch. This hitch is very well made and easy to instal. Really nice that someone has made this as it is SO needed for the G! I am actually really surprised how well the G tows a trailer too. They even include a cool sticker that looks factory. Nobody would know this hitch isn’t factory from Mercedes.
