Jinhao 993 Shark Fountain Pen - Matte Blue (#5 Nib)

This is such a fun pen. I was shocked at how well it writes considering the price. Glad I picked it up.

The pen arrived on time and looked nice. It works nice for the price. The nib doesn't really like to flow on the paper i have, but still good.

Picked this up on sale for under $6, so expectations were appropriately low. Yes, it has a plastic, inexpensive feel. No one is confusing this for a Montblanc. That said, it’s not flimsy or offensive. Just honest budget materials. Where this pen wins is the writing experience. The ink flow is shockingly smooth. Like “wait, what?” smooth. Easily writes better than 40% of pens that cost significantly more. Starts clean, no skipping, no fighting the nib. It just goes. If this stays under $10, it’s a no-brainer. Grab one. Gift it. Toss it on your desk as your “let me grab a pen real quick” pen. It punches way above its weight where it actually matters...on paper.
