Gel Convolution™ Pillow

I am a side sleeper and bought this pillow because with my old pillow I'd wake up because the ear I was sleeping on was sore. The pillow is so thick that it's hard to sleep on. I removed the blue insert, which makes it thinner, but softer/less supportive. It seems like a waste to have spent so much money on a pillow and only use part of it. If the blue insert was half the thickness, this would be a great pillow. And my ears still feel sore.
