A working man's wool shirt
Appears well made upon arrival, make sure to trim loose threads before taking out and about. I hand washed and dried mine upon arrival with outback gold wool wash which drastically softened the overall feel of the coat. Generously sized and shaped to allow layering and free movement. The chest pockets are sized well and can fit items like notebooks or phones without trouble. The fabric appears thinner than the 24oz rating would suggest at a glance. The fabric appears to have a fairly tight weave which is appreciated. It's even thicker than my vintage johnson woolen mills cruiser style coat, but is thinner than items such as Filson's jac shirt. This coat has an extra cape layer of fabric over the chest and upper back area which serves the dual purpose of increasing insulation value without weighing down the garment excessively. Being half the cost and readily available, all while being made in Canada are all huge pluses for the scrupulous buyer who wants the utility a wool coat may offer without the pomp and form of a higher end garment.

Love Wool
It is what I expected. Fit was good. I like the front pockets. The jacket is well crafted and I'm sure it will last my lifetime. Good price. Slow shipping. Easy ordering and customer service. I would recommend this product and company. 24 ounce wool is not thick, but it is light and warm. The top layer for layering. I just like wool because it is quiet. I do not care to wear a petroleum product on my body. Polyester, acrylic and the new high tech clothing are plastics. It would be nice if more companies would offer camo wool products. Cabelas made a very nice light weight camo wool pants years ago. I wore them till they fell apart after 20 years of hard hunting. Can't find anything to match it. Oh yeah, they were made in the USA. Big Bill stuff is affordable and functional. Ugly as sin, the animals don't care what you look like. Made in Canada 🇨🇦 no tariff incurred. Oh yes, I did wash the coat in cold water gentle cycle. Dried flat and it did not shrink. Happy to have this garment in my hunting closet.
