No zipper only support is with clear side straps although they do feel sturdy to walk in. If I wanted to start wearing heels without ankle straps I'd practice in these to transition I have the ones with a zipper in this style and they don't feel too far off only difference is how quickly I can remove them

More comfortable than expected!

This style is a little difficult to get on and off with the ankle cuffs. I decided to cut the cuffs off which was simple to do and now they can be worn as a very comfortable and easy get on and off pair of sling backs..with or without the cuffs.
